South Granville
Location location location is everything when we are talking about the South Granville community in Vancouver. Built in 1907 as an elite area, many of the lots alone are worth millions of dollars, and are nicely tucked away in a quiet spot in the heart of Vancouver. This area to many is considered the lifeline of Vancouver due to great accessibility to Vancouver Airport, Downtown Vancouver and UBC. Not to mention, there is a great selection of award winning restaurants, world class deli’s and international and local designers lining the streets. Spending an afternoon in this fabulous area is a high class experience in itself. The revitalisation of the Oakridge Centre has greatly benefitted residents here as well, providing another great option for shopping in the area.
There is tons of beauty to enjoy in South Granville, with tall tree-lined streets and unique homes full of character. The long history of South Granville really shows its elegance and provides lots of privacy with long driveways and massive hedges on many of the original estates. Nearby, VanDusen Botanical Gardens spans 55 acres and boasts year-round magical displays of nature and numerous galleries from world renowned artists.
There are a number of great schools within the community, with four elementary schools and three secondary school options, all within a short distance for residents. There are also some highly acclaimed private schools in the neighbourhoods such as St. Georges, Crofton House, York House and Little Flower Academy. Because of this community's great offerings, it is becoming increasingly densified, prompting the development of more low rise condos and townhomes as well.
