Southlands is an interesting neighbourhood. Sandwiched between McCleery Golf Course and the Point Grey Golf & Country Club, Southlands is all single-family, detached homes surrounded by natural and man-made greenspaces, but with a curious twist. An unexpected aspect of Southlands is that this neighbourhood is the heart of Vancouver’s equestrian community - putting the ‘neigh’ in neighbourhood. Fittingly thematic to the neighbourhood’s agricultural origins, it isn’t uncommon to see residents riding horseback in the community or along trails in nearby parks, such as Pacific Spirit Park. For those uninterested in travelling by horseback, or seeking a way to travel with more horsepower, Southlands is conveniently located just off of SW Marine Drive which connects Southlands with UBC, to Granville Street which leads to Downtown, and the Arthur Laing Bridge to Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
